The Mantle
Recently, I heard a lesson about mantles from Apostle Guillermo Maldonado. For some reason, I felt I need to learn more about it. According to him, a mantle is a garment worn for covering and protection. In the Kingdom of God, a mantle represents an assignment from God, a delegation of authority and power from God, at the same time, serves as covering and protection.
A minister with a mantle cannot give this mantle completely to someone else, otherwise, he'll be naked and unprotected from the enemy. But, he can always give a measure of it.
A believer can only benefit from this mantle if he serves the Lord under the authority of the mantle with no selfish motives; if he has sown seed, effort, time, skills to the mantle; and if he honors the mantle in his heart.
This gives me a sense of great respect for men and women of God in ministry. We cannot just say bad things about them, disrespect them, or say bad things about their ministry. Woe to them who will do such evil. There are bad consequences for dishonoring the mantle.
It also worth taking note of the fact that a believer is the product of the revelation he eats and the mantle from which he sits under. This teaching enforces the culture of honor I have embraced which implies that you get an impartation of what you honor.
I thank God for the mantles I have been under in my journey. I thank God for giving me the grace to submit to authorities, the key for me to receive the good things of the people I look up to.
Lastly, let me share with you something the Lord revealed to me lately. From June 2018, I've been losing weight. People notice that and I feel that this is a prophetic gesture that could mean the Lord is making me fit for my own mantle. Submission to authorities is training to submit to God. That's the only time one can be entrusted with the mantle.
