The Mantle
Recently, I heard a lesson about mantles from Apostle Guillermo Maldonado. For some reason, I felt I need to learn more about it. According to him, a mantle is a garment worn for covering and protection. In the Kingdom of God, a mantle represents an assignment from God, a delegation of authority and power from God, at the same time, serves as covering and protection. A minister with a mantle cannot give this mantle completely to someone else, otherwise, he'll be naked and unprotected from the enemy. But, he can always give a measure of it. A believer can only benefit from this mantle if he serves the Lord under the authority of the mantle with no selfish motives; if he has sown seed, effort, time, skills to the mantle; and if he honors the mantle in his heart. This gives me a sense of great respect for men and women of God in ministry. We cannot just say bad things about them, disrespect them, or say bad things about their ministry.
